Today is my wife’s 60th birthday. Clearly, she was graced with genes of rare quality.

My brother has a remarkable family, as do I. Today, our holiday dinners resemble the set in that Jack Nicholson/Diane Keaton movie. Growing up, they were more like The Shining.

My daughter is a better son than I ever was.

I have had only one pivotal moment in my life – meeting my wife. The rest has been pretty much iterational.

I grew up on Leisure Lane in Levittown, schooled by Sisters of Mercy and Franciscan Brothers. Enough said.

After enduring a mortician pitching every casket in his showroom, I asked if he had any that required some assembly. He didn’t laugh. My dad would have.
